Ulrich Lang, fragrance designer and founder of beauty trade event ELEMENTS, and I have known each other for years. Ironically, we met through the art world, although we are both beauty entrepreneurs. Uli (as his friends call him) brings beauty and the visual arts together seamlessly in his fragrance brand Anvers, which was inspired by a contemporary art gallerist from Belgium. With a shared fascination for beauty, for the arts, and a shared astrological sign (we both call each other “the other Libra”!), it is no wonder that we get along so well…
AP: What city were you born in? UL: A small town in Germany called Backnang, which is about 20 miles away from Stuttgart, home of Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.
AP: What city to do you live in? UL: New York City. Specifically, Greenwich Village.
